1603

DDKE 2/15/2
This is a plan made in 1603 to help settle a dispute about rights of way through Great Harwood. The dispute concerned the King’s Highway, now known as Whalley Road, in particular the section from Cock Bridge to where Harwood New Road now begins.
The writing is very poor and can take some time to decipher and may be near impossible if the area isn’t known to the viewer, so a copy with transcriptions of the text is included.
The document that accompanies the plan can be seen here.
