War Memorial

It would be remiss not to have a page dedicated to those who died and those who served in war, in particular in WWI. This page has the bare details, but on the webpage of the Friends of Memorial Park there is a full history of the memorial. https://greatharwoodfomp.co.uk/

War memorial

After WWI a memorial to the fallen was proposed, but it was not until 1926 that it came into being when a committee of women achieved the aim.

The monument was unveiled by Major General Sir Neill Malcom and Mrs Catherine Ormerod, who lost three sons in the war.
